EmberdayRecord a feeling
Try the practice scale on the welcome screen, or skip to the calendar. Tap + to record a feeling. Slide along the arc to choose an answer between 0 and 100, then release to save. Moving away cancels the gesture. In input options, choose a left- or right-handed layout or use a standard slider with a Save button. Manual records also let you choose a time.
Look back
Tap a day on the calendar to browse its check-ins. Open a record to add a note or delete it. Scroll up to fold the calendar and tap Recent trend to open Insights. Select Week, Month or Year; change the date range with the date row or its arrows. Drag within a chart to inspect a value.
Set your pace
In Settings, choose a check-in frequency and quiet hours. A due question appears when you next open the app. There are no notification reminders or streak obligations. Choose the pace that suits your day.
Choose your privacy settings
The app works without an Emberday account. Journal records are stored on your device. iCloud Sync is on by default and can be turned off in Settings; turning it off retains existing local and cloud copies. Optional app lock uses your device’s authentication.
Add context, if it helps
Places and Apple Health are independently optional and off by default. Configure them from the welcome screen or Settings > Optional features. Place labels and coordinates remain in a separate local file. Health readings and estimates remain in memory and are cleared when the app goes into the background or you disable the feature. Neither enters journal sync.
Health estimates compare your HRV with your own prior readings under comparable conditions. They are not clinically validated, do not measure psychological stress and have no medical use. The app explains the method and limits before authorization and in the health view. Your subjective mood score stays separate.
